Hi, we're Zac and Jack, the founders of Terac. We want to talk to you directly, because you are the most important part of what we're building.

Terac is a community of experts. People who have spent years getting good at something specific and hard. The world is about to need more of you, not less. As AI takes on more of the world's work, the bottleneck shifts to the people who actually know what they're talking about.

Expert labor is the rarest resource in the world right now, and it is shockingly hard to find. The companies that need an FP&A analyst's eye on a forecast that doesn't tie out spend weeks chasing people, paying placement fees, and settling for whoever is available. Meanwhile thousands of qualified people are sitting with knowledge that no one ever asks for.

That gap is what we're here to close. Every project that lands on Terac is routed to the people who actually know the answer, on their schedule, paid fairly, and only when the work is verified. No middleman taking a cut of your time. No vague gigs. No chasing checks.

We care about every single person in this community. If you join Terac, you're not a row in a database to us. We read the feedback. We answer the emails. We will fight for you when a customer is being unreasonable, and we will be honest with you when something on our side is broken. The quality of this panel is our entire company, and we owe you a serious bar.

If you've made it this far, here is what we're asking: claim your profile. Put your expertise on the record. Let the world's most ambitious teams come find you for the work only you can do.

FP&A questions

SaaS and recurring-revenue modeling is in demand because models frequently produce forecasts around ARR, NRR, and cohort churn that need review from someone who works with them daily. Generalist FP&A backgrounds are equally welcome. What matters is that you can judge whether a model's reasoning is sound.

The FPAC qualifies, and you do not need a CPA or CFA. We value demonstrated FP&A expertise, so the FPAC, the FMVA from CFI, or equivalent verifiable modeling experience all count. Credential type routes you to relevant tasks, it does not gate you out.

You evaluate whether the AI's reasoning is accurate and well-structured, not sign off on anything with legal effect. The work product trains models, it isn't filed. If a task touches ASC 606 or SOX narratives, you flag errors the way you would in a peer review.

Tasks come from the core FP&A set: budget-versus-actual commentary, driver-based forecast models, scenario and sensitivity analyses, and the financial sections of board or investor packages. You may also review worked examples where the AI explains its own forecasting logic and judge whether the reasoning is coherent.

Platform familiarity matters less than your ability to evaluate financial logic and forecast methodology. Most work is presented as formulas, structured outputs, or written analysis. Where tasks involve tool-specific content, Anaplan and Adaptive experience is an asset because those environments have conventions generalist reviewers miss.

Why your expertise matters

Today's FP&A AI builds plausible variance bridges and three-statement models that break basic accounting identities, misapply period conventions, or confuse run-rate with reported figures. Catching that takes someone who has closed a forecast cycle and argued a budget to a CFO. Your eye for a coherent operating model is what teaches these tools.

How pay works

Top of the band goes to practitioners who build and audit multi-year models, consolidate across business units, or work where GAAP or IFRS treatment matters. All work is remote and billed hourly. You're paid once your submission is verified complete, with no unpaid waiting periods.

What the work looks like

A sample of the FP&A and financial planning work you would pick up. Every project is scoped, remote, and paid on verified completion.

  • Review a model's three-statement build for a SaaS company and flag where the cash flow statement fails to reconcile with net income and balance sheet movements.
  • Evaluate an AI-drafted budget narrative and catch where stated variances contradict the schedule or use the wrong sign for favorable versus unfavorable.
  • Build a worked driver-based headcount plan for a 200-person company, flowing hiring timing into compensation, payroll taxes, and benefits accruals month by month.
  • Assess whether a model's take on contribution margin versus gross margin holds for a manufacturer that capitalizes overhead, and correct any conflation.
  • Build a labeled scenario analysis across base, upside, and downside revenue cases, annotating each assumption behind the range.
  • Score machine-written cash conversion cycle explanations for a retailer on whether they correctly distinguish DSO, DIO, and DPO in context.
